In this case, Plaintiffs allege that a defective electric mattress pad manufactured by
Defendant caused a house fire which badly burned one of the Plaintiffs and killed his
mother. Defendant denies these allegations, and contends it did not manufacture the
mattress pad, that the woman who was killed was negligent in using the mattress pad, and
that she disabled the smoke detectors in her apartment. Based on what you know about
