Cats and Dogs Animal Hospital, Inc. v. Yelp! Inc. Doc. 86 Att. Composite Exhibit A Dockets.Justia.c Jared H. Beck Jared H. Beck was born in Albany, New York and grew up in upstate New York. His father is a lifelong union worker, and his mother is a public librarian. Jared grew up in a home that instilled in him the values of hard work, fair play and gratitude for life's blessings. Jared was raised with an appreciation for the advantages of his upbringing, as his grandfather came of age during the Great Depression, the youngest in a family of 13 children with a blind mother and a father who died young. Jared took to heart the stories of hunger and desperation that afflicted not only the family but gripped the nation as a whole. His lifelong lessons from growing up with his grandfather included an understanding of the power of perseverance during difficult times, and an appreciation for tragedies that can befall individuals. Jared entered the practice of law because it seemed the avenue that had the greatest potential for impacting people's daily lives. After law school, he gained valuable experience by practicing at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, LLP -- one of the top litigation firms in Los Angeles -- where he represented clients including Cadbury Schweppes PLC, General Motors, Snapple Beverage Corp., Waste Management Inc., Blockbuster Inc., and the owner of a Major League Baseball franchise. He was a member of a Quinn Emanuel trial team that won a $128 million federal jury verdict in a patent dispute in the telecommunications industry. Jared thereafter practiced at the Miami office of Morgan Lewis & Bockius, an international law firm, where he litigated on behalf of large corporations and financial institutions in federal and state court. However, the desire to represent plaintiffs proved too strong, and three years out of law school, he founded Beck & Lee Business Trial Lawyers with his wife and law partner, dedicating his practice to obtaining justice for individuals and small businesses.
