Mr. Krohe consented to 20 proceed before a magistrate judge. (ECF No. 8.) 1 21 In his complaint, Mr. Krohe alleges that Ms. Steinhardt has failed to retain counsel for him. 22 (ECF No. 1 at 5; see ECF No. 10 at 1.) His complaint contains allegations that appear to be efforts 23 to explain why his federal habeas petition was not filed before the expiration of the habeas statute 24 of limitations period. (A slightly more detailed description of his dispute with Ms. Steinhardt and 25 his federal habeas action may be found in the order of transfer in Krohe v. Steinhardt, N. D. The events and omissions giving rise to the complaint occurred in Fresno County or Amador 3 County, both of which are located within the venue of the Eastern District of California. The 4 defendant resides in Fresno County, which is located within the venue of the Eastern District of 5 California. No defendant is alleged to reside in, and none of the events or omissions giving rise to 6 the complaint are alleged to have occurred in, the Northern District of California. Venue is proper 7 in the Eastern District, and not in the Northern District. See 28 U.S.C. § 1391(b). Accordingly, in 8 the interest of justice and pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1406(a), this action is TRANSFERRED to the 9 United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. The clerk shall transfer this 10 matter. All pending motions will be decided in the Eastern District of California.
