D. WILLIAMS, Defendant. ________________________________/ 13 Trial in this case is scheduled to begin on July 8, 2013. 14 However, because proceedings in an earlier trial are currently 15 scheduled to continue through July 10, 2013, the trial in this 16 case may have to trail or be vacated. In that event, trial would 17 be scheduled to begin sometime between July 8, 2013 and July 11, 18 2013, depending on when the earlier trial concludes. Furthermore, 19 trial would likely have to take place over non-consecutive days 20 due to the Court’s unavailability between July 15, 2013 and July 21 17, 2013. 22 Accordingly, in light of the burden that this schedule would 23 place on both the parties and their counsel, the parties are 24 directed to reconsider whether they would consent to proceed 25 before a magistrate judge in order to secure a date certain for 26 trial and an uninterrupted trial schedule. 27 28 The parties must file 1 by June 24, 2013 a consent or declination to proceed before a 2 magistrate judge. 3 IT IS SO ORDERED. 4 5 6 Dated: 6/21/2013 CLAUDIA WILKEN United States District Judge 7 8 9 United States District Court For the Northern District of California 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 2
