I, Erik Olson, hereby declare as follows:

I am an attorney in the law firm of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP,
3 counsel for Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and Samsung
4 Telecommunications America, LLC (collectively, “Samsung”). I have personal knowledge of the
5 facts set forth in this declaration and, if called upon as a witness, I could and would testify to such
6 facts under oath.

Attached hereto as Exhibit A is a true and correct copy of excerpts from the
8 Transcript of Proceedings held before the Court in this case on May 12, 2011.

On July 22, 2011, lead trial counsel for Samsung, Charles K. Verhoeven, is
10 scheduled to appear at a Markman hearing in Wisconsin before Judge Barbara B. Crabb in Apple
11 Inc. et al. v. Motorola, Inc. et al., No. 10-cv-662-bbc (W.D. Wisc.). Mr. Verhoeven thus will be in
12 Wisconsin on July 21 in anticipation of that hearing. Judge Crabb scheduled the Markman
13 hearing in December of 2010. The case involves 21 asserted patents, 60 asserted claims, and 12
14 disputed claim terms.
