Thompson v. The Florida Bar Doc. 278 Att. 1 John B. Thompson, Attorney at Law 1172 S. Dixie Hwy., Suite 111 Coral Gables, Florida 33146 305-666-4366 amendmentone@comcast.net October 29, 2007 Kenneth Marvin The Florida Bar Tallahassee, Florida Via Fax to 850-561-5827 and Via U.S. Mail Re: The Bar's Protection of Norm Kent Dear Mr. Marvin: Because there is such a thing as redemption, I want to afford you and The Bar one more chance to begin to undo its denial of equal protection, compounded and worsened by its protection of The Bar's active shielding of my SLAPP Bar complainants from the consequences of their own unethical actions. As you know, Norm Kent sent me a letter on August 24, 2004, which demanded that I apologize for filing an FCC complaint against the Howard Stern Show. He indicated therein that he would file a Bar complaint against me if I did not apologize. I did not apologize for alerting the federal government to Stern's violation of 18 USC 1464, so Mr. Kent filed his SLAPP Bar complaint. As you also know, such a threat by Kent to bring a Bar complaint, and then the bringing of it, violates Bar Rule 4-3.4 (h). Please proceed, finally, on this matter. I'll give you until 5 pm Eastern this Wednesday, October 31, to inform me that you and The Bar have done so.
