Dear Judge Chuang:
We write pursuant to the Court’s request during the March 21, 2017 status conference to
be kept advised of material developments in litigation concerning President Trump’s March 6,
2017 Executive Order (“Executive Order”). Yesterday, a federal district court in Hawaii issued
an order granting plaintiffs’ motion to convert the court’s temporary restraining order against
Sections 2 and 6 of the Executive Order into a preliminary injunction. See Hawai’i v. Trump, __
F. Supp. 3d __, No. 17-cv-50, 2017 WL 1011673 (D. Haw. Mar. 30, 2017) (attached as Exhibit
A) (“Order”). The Hawai’i Court’s Order preliminarily enjoins Sections 2 and 6 of the
Executive Order in their entirety.
