v.
GOOGLE INC., a Delaware Corporation;

JUDGE CLARK WADDOUPS
Defendants.
Defendants Google Inc., Acer America Corp., and Samsung Electronics America, Inc.
(erroneously sued herein as Samsung Electronics USA, Inc.) (collectively, “Defendants”), by and
through their undersigned counsel of record, hereby move this Court for an order authorizing
redaction of certain portions of the transcript from the June 14, 2011 hearing on plaintiff’s
motion for temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in the above-captioned case
-1#281597 v1 slc
(the “Transcript”).
Defendants’ motion is based on FRCP Rule 26(c), the accompanying
memorandum of authority, and the Redaction Request submitted herewith.
Pursuant to DUCivR5.2-1(c), Defendants filed a Notice of Intent to Request Redaction on
July 29, 2011. Defendants hereby request permission to redact from the Transcript references to
Defendants’ highly confidential business information, as reflected in the Redaction Request
submitted concurrently with this motion.
There is good cause to redact as requested because the information to be redacted is
confidential and sensitive business information, the release of which would damage Defendants.
The requested redactions are narrowly tailored to permit public access to the transcript with the
exception of only the limited portions that disclose Defendants’ highly confidential business
information.
DATED this 9th day of August, 2011.
