On May 28, 2013, defendants Polk County and Lisa Ditlefsen filed a motion for
protection from specified discovery requests served upon them by plaintiff (dkt. 12 ).
The court set June 4, 2013 as plaintiff's response deadline and set a telephonic motion
hearing for June 7, 2013 at 1:00. On May 30, 2013, this court learned that plaintiff's
attorney has been suspended from the practice of law for 90 days, from May 21, 2013
to August 19, 2013. As an accommodation to plaintiff, I am canceling the June 7,
2013 hearing and I am extending his response deadline to June 11, 2013. Plaintiff
must respond to defendant's motion by June 11, 2013, either by new counsel or by
himself, pro se, or the court will grant the motion for protection as unopposed. If
plaintiff timely responds in opposition, then the court will determine at that time
whether a telephonic motion hearing is needed or if the court can decide the motion
