Jerry Van Cannon, by counsel, now files this docketing statement pursuant to Circ.
Rule 3(c)(1), 28(a) (7th Cir.). He files his notice of appeal simultaneously. Mr. Van Cannon
also includes here his Cir. Rule 26.1 (7th Cir.) disclosure statement.

The United States District Court had jurisdiction over this post-conviction
proceeding under 28 U.S.C. § 2255.

The petitioner-appellant is a natural person, and no party is a corporation.
3.
This is a direct appeal from an order denying the petitioner-appellant’s
petition under 28 U.S.C. § 2255. The district court granted a certificate of appealability;
therefore, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has jurisdiction to hear this appeal under
28 U.S.C. §§ 1291 and 2253(c).

The order and judgment being appealed were entered on July 10, 2017.
