Place Orders with Alexa
You can ask Alexa to place orders for Prime-eligible physical products. On
supported devices, you can also ask Alexa to place orders for music.
When you make a voice purchase request, Alexa searches through Prime-eligible items from your
order history.
If an item is available, Alexa tells you the item name and price. Additional details about that item are
available in the Alexa app. Then, Alexa asks you to confirm or cancel the order.
You can also ask Alexa to cancel your order immediately after you place it or track your shipped order.
Requirements
Alexa uses the default shipping address and payment settings in Your Account. Orders you place for
physical products are also eligible for free returns.
To place orders, you need:
An Amazon Prime membership
A valid payment method
An Amazon account
A device with access to Alexa

Tip: You can manage your shopping settings in the Alexa app, such as turning off voice purchasing or
requiring a confirmation code before every order. To learn more, go to Manage Voice Purchasing
Settings.

In select cities, you can use Alexa to order items sold from the Amazon Prime Now catalog. The
Amazon Prime Now catalog includes tens of thousands of daily essential products that are eligible for
.free two-hour delivery. Just say, "Order [item] from Prime Now." If the item is available, Alexa adds it
to your Prime Now cart, where you can review and check out your item. Amazon Prime Now uses your
zip code in the Prime Now app for the order, or the default shipping address and payment method
you have registered with your Amazon account.
Note: Ordering on Amazon Prime Now is only supported for U.S. customers.
Shopping for Groceries
In select cities, Alexa can help you shop for groceries from Whole Foods Market through Prime Now.
To check if you’re eligible, just say, "Shop Whole Foods." To order a grocery item from Whole Foods
Market, say, "Add [item] to my Whole Foods cart."
If the Whole Foods Market service is available in your area, Alexa automatically adds the item to the
Whole Foods cart in your Prime Now app. To find out what's in your cart, ask Alexa, "What’s in my
Whole Foods cart?" To switch an item in your cart, go to the Whole Foods cart on the Prime Now
website, or the Prime Now app and select "Switch item."
To update the quantity or weight for an item added by Alexa, go to the Whole Foods cart on the
Prime Now website, or on the Prime Now app. To check if Alexa missed an item, scroll to the bottom
of the cart. When Alexa can't find a good match, she adds a reminder with a search link to your Whole
Foods cart. Select the search link to find what you want and add it to your cart.
As a Prime Fresh member, you can also ask Alexa to add grocery items to your Fresh cart. To order a
grocery item from AmazonFresh, say, "Add [item] to my Fresh cart." If you've bought the item before,
Alexa adds the same item to your cart.
If you've never bought the item, Alexa adds the item most commonly selected by customers. To find
out what's in your cart, ask Alexa, "What's in my Fresh cart?" To switch an item in your cart, go to the
cart on the Amazon website or the Amazon shopping app and select "Switch item." To learn more
about AmazonFresh, go to About Amazon Prime Fresh.
